Image Credit: Brittany Ferries Brittany Ferries has achieved fuel savings of up to 6% through a digital twin-enabled routing solution developed with Adrena and Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore . The system combines vessel performance data, operational information and route optimisation to improve voyage planning and machinery operation, Bureau Veritas said in a press release last year.  The results were validated through thousands of commercial voyages and nearly two years of onboard monitoring aboard Galicia , one of Brittany Ferries’ E-Flexer-class vessels. The solution has now been deployed across nine vessels in the fleet, which operates routes between France , the UK , Guernsey , Ireland and Spain . Brittany Ferries and Adrena launched AdrenaShip in 2016 , initially achieving fuel savings of around 4% . Bureau Veritas Solutions joined the partnership in 2022 to develop vessel-specific digital twins. "The results achieved demonstrate that it is possible to reduce our vessels' energy consumption while preserving the reliability of our operations and the experience we offer our customers," Brice Robinson , Head of Studies and Projects at Brittany Ferries, said.  Ship & Bunker News Team To contact the editor responsible for this story email us at [email protected] Also in the News Siltrax Brings Lighter Silicon-Based Fuel
