Maersk has set its temporary inland fuel surcharge in Mexico at 2% of the inland haulage rate. The carrier attributed the adjustment to higher fuel-related costs linked to the evolving situation in the Middle East. Maersk will review the surcharge monthly and may introduce further changes depending on market conditions. The charge will appear on invoices under the following codes: EFS – Export Fuel Surcharge IFS – Import Fuel Surcharge For non-FMC shipments, the Price Calculation Date is the estimated departure date of the first vessel shown in the latest booking confirmation. For FMC-regulated shipments, Maersk said the surcharge applies from 1 May 2026. The Price Calculation Date is when Maersk or an authorised agent takes possession of the final container listed on the transport document. For import shipments where the inland leg is arranged after the cargo departs its origin, the price calculation will use the import shipment creation date.
