FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responded to a fire aboard the ferry MV Maria Felisa in waters off Surigao City in Surigao del Norte on 1 February, which has left three crew injured. As stated, at around 1:40 PM on 1 February, the PCG received a report that a fire had broken out in the vessel’s engine compartment while it was traversing the waters off Surigao Strait. The crew successfully contained the fire, however, the vessel’s ship engine stopped approximately 0.85 nautical miles off Bilaa Point, Barangay Punta Bilar, Surigao City.
