FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin The Indian Coast Guard has stabilised the product tanker MT Seagull 9 after a main-engine failure triggered rapid flooding in one of its ballast tanks while the vessel was approaching Paradip. The tanker was sailing from Malaysia to Paradip Port with about 9,000 metric tonnes of palm oil when it issued a distress call at around 7:30 a.m. local time on 27 September. At the time, the vessel was approximately 37 nautical miles from Paradip.
