The Maritime Technical Networking Summit, held at the Grecotel La Riviera resort, has officially opened its doors today. The two-day premium B2B matchmaking event is organised under the aegis of MARTECMA, AMMITEC, the Hellenic Institute of Maritime Technology (H.I.M.T.), the Propeller Club and HEMEXPO, and represents the only initiative of its kind in Greece by Boussias Events. The summit aims to bring together leading decision-makers from the maritime industry around a shared agenda, establishing itself as a new annual institution for those shaping the future of the sector. Its focus spans strategic priorities including Maritime 4.0, decarbonisation, fleet performance and operational excellence, highlighting the key trends accelerating the industry’s transition toward a more efficient, sustainable and technologically advanced model. Participants include technical, fleet operations, energy performance, and procurement directors from top shipping companies, who meet directly with maritime industry suppliers through one-to-one business meetings, keynote presentations and targeted thematic discussions. A keynote address by Stefanos Gikas, deputy minister of maritime affairs and island policy, opens the central agenda, focusing on the milestones and challenges of the green and digital transition in shipping. The first day also features a panel discussion titled “Marine Equipment for Green Shipping in the Absence of Green Fuels”, with the participation of Vasilis Dimitriadis, principal advisor for EU regulatory policy and government affairs at HEMEXPO, Niki Giannoutsou, chief executive officer of Eurochem International, Takis Pappas, chief executive officer of PNPappas Consulting Ltd, and Manolis Sdougkos, technical manager at Gourdomichalis.
