French family-owned shipowner Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) has ordered a pair of newly built 27-meter crew transfer vessels (CTVs) from Singapore-based Strategic Marine. This order will expand its fleet from five to seven such vessels. These additional new units will be sister ships to the Acti’Vent and Esti’Vent CTVs. The new vessels will be of the StratCat 27 design and will be able to transport 24 passengers to offshore wind farms. The CTVs are expected to be delivered early in 2025. “These new orders are part of our strategy to expand our offshore renewables business in France and Europe. We are anticipating the future needs of the rapidly evolving French offshore wind industry,” said Gaël Cailleaux, the renewables managing director at Louis Dreyfus Armateurs.
