US-listed bulker player Genco Shipping & Trading has been linked to the sale of another ageing capesizes as demand for secondhand bulker tonnage remains robust. The John Wobensmith-led owner of more than 40 ships has offloaded the 2008-built Genco Hadrian to Far Eastern interests at $25m, according to shipping S&P sources. The sale of the 169,000 dwt scrubber-fitted ship, which Genco bought as a resarle for $100m in 2007, follows the exit of the 2010-built Genco Claudius and 2009-built Genco Maximus in March for an aggregate gross purchase price of $47m and after the initial $36.5m deal for the two ships fell through. If confirmed, New York-based Genco should have 15 capes left in its fleet, built between 2007 and 2016.
