News 10 Mar, 2021 New Tug and Barge publication: Fixed and Floating Objects (FFO) Emily McCulloch Head of Claims (Americas) Alton Peralta Senior Claims Manager At West we are proud to work closely with a number of prominent tug and barge accounts, primarily in North and South America, and we acknowledge that there are specific challenges that apply to these operations that differ from some of our other fleets. With that in mind, our Americas Claims Team has worked alongside Loss Prevention to prepare a series of handy guides to assist Members in managing the types of risks faced by tug and barge operators. The guides will focus on the Club’s role in responding to claims, recommendations, useful case studies and lessons learned. We are pleased to publish the first claims guide in our Tug and Barge series: Fixed and Floating Objects (FFO). This will be supplemented in due course by a virtual “lunch and learn” where tug and barge Members will have the opportunity to analyse and discuss a FFO case study in greater depth.
