Ship Owners Order More Dry Bulk Newbuildings in Dry Bulk Market,Hellenic Shipping News 27/02/2026 In its latest weekly report, shipbroker Banchero Costa said that “in the bulk sector, Greece’s Seanergy Maritime placed an order of 1 x 211,000 dwt newcastlemax vessel to Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy. The price is $75.8 mln and delivery is set for mid2028. Seanergy placed an addition order, this time for 1 x 181,500 dwt vessel to Chinese builder Hengli H.I. The price is $75.2 mln and delivery is set for September 2027. Greek owner Maran Dry Management placed an order of 2 x 180,000 dwt capesize vessels to Hengli H.I. No prices were disclosed and the duo will be delivered December 2028. Greece’s Almi Marine placed an order of 2 x 64,000 dwt ultramax carriers to NACKS in China. No prices were disclosed and deliveries are set for Q3 and Q4 2029. Oshima shipyard in Japan secured an order of 4 x 35,000 dwt carriers from Canadian shipowner Fednav. Source: Banchero Costa Deliveries will span from Q1 2029 until December 2029. In the tanker sector, the Swiss-based MSC placed an order of 4 x 306,000 dwt VLCCs to Hengli H.I. The price for each vessel is $120 mln and deliveries will start end-2029 and finish in late2030. Hengli H.I. secured another order, this time for 4 x 306,000 dwt VLCCs. No prices were disclosed and deliveries will span from Q3 2027 until Q2 2029. Greece’s Navios Maritime placed an order of 4 x 300,000 dwt VLCCs to China’s Wuhu shipyard. The price for each vessel is $120 mln and all four are scheduled for delivery in March 2028. Pantheon Tankers placed an additional order, this time for 2 x 157,000 dwt suezmax vessels to COSCO shipyard. No prices were disclosed and deliveries are set for mid- and late-2028. Monaco’s Scorpio Tankers placed an order of 2 x 114,000 dwt product carriers to Dalian Shipbuilding in China. The price for each vessel is $68.5 mln and both will be fitted with exhaust scrubbers. Delivery isset for Q3 2029. Meanwhile, in a separate note, shipbroker Xclusiv said that in the S&P market this week, “dry bulk activity eased this week with a handful of transactions recorded across the Panamax, Supramax and Handysize segments. On the Kamsarmax sector, Greek buyers acquired the modern Chinese-built “AQUAVITA SEA” – 81K/2020 Jiangsu New Hantong for USD 30.5 mills. In addition, the “EPIPHANIA” – 80K/2012 STX was sold for USD 17.6 mills. Finally, in the Handysize segment, Greek interests picked up the “ADVENTURE” – 34K/2011 Samjin for USD 9.5 mills, while the smaller “LIBERATOR” – 28K/2006 Shimanami was sold for USD 6.7 mills”. Source: Xclusiv “Tanker S&P activity was particularly busy this week, with 16 reported transactions across the VLCC, Aframax/LR2 and product tanker segments. In the VLCC sector, the scrubber fitted “LEICESTER” – 301K/2017 SWS was sold for USD 111 mills. Also, the scrubber fitted “SINGAPORE SPIRIT” – 318K/2013 SWS changed hands for USD 84.5 mills. An enbloc deal was also noted with the “NAVE BUENA SUERTE” – 297K/2011 Dalian and the “NAVE GALACTIC” – 297K/2009 Shanghai Jiangnan sold enbloc for USD 136.5 mills. Further, the scrubber fitted “CAESAR” – 318K/2009 HHI was sold for USD 70 mills, while Sinokor was linked to the acquisition of the “SHAYBAH” – 319K/2008 Daewoo for USD 59 mills. The Aframax “P. SOPHIA” – 105K/2009 HHI was sold for USD 35.65 mills. In the product tanker segment, an enbloc transaction was reported involving the GSI-built units “HAFNIA LEO” – 50K/2013 and “HAFNIA CRUX” – 53K/2012,
