AMSA Marine notice 2021/06 highlights the obligation of shipowners, operators, masters and crew to ensure safe arrangements are in place when high risk activities such as embarking or disembarking a vessel using a pilot ladder. The notice recommends minimum considerations by crew and that the associated risk assessments for safe transfer of personnel to be a part of vessel’s safety management system.
