New York-listed Greek bulker owner Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with Stone Shipping for one of its ultramax vessels. Diana Shipping won a charter for the 2016-built, 60,309-dwt DSI Aquarius, previously known as STH Kure. The gross charter rate is $14,500, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period until a minimum of December 1, 2024, up to a maximum of February 1, 2025. The charter is expected to commence on January 19, 2024, and the employment of the bulker is anticipated to generate around $4.52m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter. In January, Diana Shipping already won a contract for one of its vessels. It was an extension for the post-panamax bulker Amphitrite with Cobelfret. The Semiramis Paliou-led company has a fleet currently consisting of 40 dry bulk vessels – four newcastlemax, nine capesize, five post-panamax, six kamsarmax, seven panamax, and nine ultramax.
