The approvals highlight Hudong-Zhonghua’s strong technological capabilities in driving innovation for a more sustainable maritime industry.The awarded designs include:174,000 m³ Ice-Strengthened LNG CarrierPart of Hudong-Zhonghua’s G5 "Changheng" series, this 174,000 m³ ice-strengthened LNG carrier (plus version) measures 299.0m in length, 46.4m in breadth, and 11.5m in design draft, with a service speed of 19.5 knots. Equipped with the GTT NO96 Super+ membrane cargo containment system, it meets ICE CLASS IA requirements and offers. This vessel is designed to deliver efficient, low-carbon solutions for LNG transportation. Key advantages include:Exceptional performance in ice zones with reduced emissionsDeck design for extreme temperature resistance and global operabilitySmart operation and maintenance with extensive route coverage8,000 TEU LNG-Powered Container ShipThe 8,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) LNG-powered container ship (260m L × 42.8m B × 24.8m D) features a dual-island design, compatible with independent or membrane-type LNG fuel tanks (6,600 m³ capacity). The vessel is positioned as a highly competitive, sustainable solution for global container transport. As the "top cargo carrier" in the VLEC segment, it offers a robust, environmentally responsible platform for transporting high-methane ethane cargo worldwide.
