Italian product tanker owner and operator d’Amico International Shipping (DIS) has exercised its purchase option for the 50,000 dwt medium-range product tanker Crimson Pearl. The vessel was built in August 2017 by Japan’s Minaminippon Shipbuilding. The eco MR product tanker has been time-chartered-in by d’Amico Tankers ever since. The purchase option will set back d’Amico approximately $31m with delivery expected between September and October 2024. As of today, the DIS fleet comprises 33 double-hulled MR, handysize, and LR1 product tankers, 25 of which are owned, five are chartered-in, and three are bareboat chartered-in. The owned and bareboat chartered-in vessels have an average age of about 8.8 years. “Following the acquisition of Crimson Jade at the end of June, I am now glad to announce the exercise of DIS’ purchase option on its sister ship. Through this transaction, we acquire a young and high-quality vessel at an attractive purchase price, around 30% lower than its current market value,” said Carlos di Mottola, CEO of d’Amico International Shipping. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsItaly
