In November 2025, production in construction fell by 1.5% in both the euro area and the EU. In December 2025, compared with December 2024, production in construction decreased by 0.9% in the euro area and remained stable in the EU. The annual average production in construction for the year 2025, compared with 2024, remained stable in the euro area and increased by 0.5% in the EU. Monthly comparison by construction sector and by Member State In the euro area in December 2025, compared with November 2025, production in construction increased by 0.9% for construction of buildings, increased by 2.3% for civil engineering, increased by 0.6% for specialised construction activities. In the EU, production in construction increased by 1.2% for construction of buildings, increased by 3.9% for civil engineering, increased by 0.9% for specialised construction activities. Among Member States for which data are available, the highest monthly increases in production in construction were recorded in Hungary (+6.6%), Poland (+5.1%) and Slovakia (+4.0%). The largest decreases were observed in Austria (-9.2%), Slovenia (-3.2%) and Bulgaria (-2.3%). Among Member States for which data are available, the largest annual decreases in production in construction were recorded in Austria (-12.3%), Belgium (-4.3%) and Spain (-3.9%).
