CMA CGM announced new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) for shipments moving from Asia to West and East Africa. The new charges will take effect from June 15, 2026, until further notice. For shipments from Southeast Asia to West Africa, CMA CGM introduced a surcharge of US$500 per TEU. The surcharge applies to all West Africa ranges. It covers both dry and reefer cargo moving under short-term contracts. CMA CGM also announced new surcharges for East Africa trades. For cargo moving from China to Mozambique, the carrier introduced a PSS of US$200 per TEU. The surcharge applies to both dry and reefer cargo under short-term contracts. In addition, shipments from South China to Tamatave, Madagascar, will face a surcharge of US$200 per TEU. This surcharge also applies to dry and reefer cargo moving under short-term agreements. The latest increases come as carriers continue adjusting pricing across African trades amid rising demand and ongoing market pressures.
