AUTORIDAD DEL CANAL DE PANAMÁ OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT 3654-A (OPXI v. 3-2-2011 ADVISORIES ARE AVAILABLE AT http://www.pancanal.com FOR ETAS OR DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH OUR OFFICES, REFER TO NOTICE N-3-2011 OP’S ADVISORY TO SHIPPING No. A-08-2011 April 29, 2011 TO : All Shipping Agents, Owners, and Operators SUBJECT: MITER GATE MAINTENANCE AND THE PANAMA CANAL AUTHORITY TRANSIT RESERVATION SYSTEM Beginning Tuesday, May 3, 2011, three separate locks lane outages will take place as follows: • Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at 2200 hours through Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 1100 hours, the EAST side of Miraflores Locks will be closed for the installation of Miter Gate 121. • Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 2200 hours through Friday, May 6, 2011, at 1100 hours, the EAST side of Miraflores Locks will be closed for the installation of Miter Gate 120. • Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 2100 hours through Friday, May 6, 2011, at 0600 hours, the WEST side of Gatun Locks will be closed for repairs to the piston of the arm of Miter Gate #7. As a result, and pursuant to the rules governing the Transit Reservation System (OP’s Notice to Shipping No. N-7-2010), Condition 1.a will be in effect only on May 6, 2011. Applications for reserved transits under this condition will be received commencing at 0900 hours May 3, 2011. The booking slot available through the Auction Process, as well as the slots available for regular vessels less than 300 feet in length, will continue to be offered during this period.
