Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has announced that three of its pipelay support vessels have secured contract extensions with Petrobras in Brazil. The PLSVs in question, owned by a 50-50 joint venture between DOF and TechnipFMC, are the Skandi Vitória, Skandi Niterói, and the Skandi Açu. The first two have had their current contracts extended from the fourth quarter of 2025 until the first quarter of 2027. The three-year contracts for the duo, announced in June 2024, will now begin following the extension period. The Skandi Açu has had its current contract extended from the third quarter of 2026 until the first quarter of 2027. Its three-year deal, announced in August 2024, will also start after the extension. DOF said that the contract extensions add approximately $100m to the company’s backlog. All other terms and conditions of the three-year contracts previously announced remain unchanged. “We are happy to extend the firm backlog of these three high-end vessels into 2030.
