Ismini Panagiotidis has set sights on a New York initial public offering to raise funds for her new bulker outfit. Icon Energy, set up in August last year, has applied to have its common shares listed on Nasdaq and is offering 1.25m plus some additional shares targeting between $4.6m and $5.5m from the deal. The net proceeds of this offering will be used for general corporate purposes, Icon said. The company will set about with a 2006 Japanese-built 77,326 dwt panamax bulker Alfa from Panagiotidi-controlled Pavimar in exchange for shares. The vessel is currently on charter with a commodity trading conglomerate expiring between October 2025 and February 2026. According to Icon Energy’s IPO prospectus, plans are to grow, renew and expand the fleet via the secondhand bulker market, but the company may also consider diversifying into other sectors or ordering newbuilds. Pavimar will act as the commercial and technical manager of Icon’s fleet. The move will see Panagiotidis join her brother Petros, who runs two companies listed on Nasdaq: bulker and boxship owner Castor Maritime and its spin-off tanker and LPG business, Toro. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsGreece
