Baltic Dry Index Extends Losing-Run in Dry Bulk Market , International Shipping News 30/06/2026 The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk freight index, which monitors rates for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, was down for the sixth straight session on Monday, falling about 1.4% to its lowest since April 15 at 2,490 points. The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes including iron ore and coal, slumped by 2.8% to 3,538 points; and the supramax index edged down by 0.1% to a fresh low since June 15 at 1,668 points. On the other hand, the panamax index, which tracks vessels carrying around 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, rose 0.7% to 2,124 points.
