ADVISORIES ARE AVAILABLE AT http://www.pancanal.com FOR ETAS OR DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH OUR OFFICES, REFER TO NOTICE N-3-2020 Panama Canal Authority Vice Presidency for Operations Advisory to Shipping No. A-31-2022 September 16, 2022 TO : All Shipping Agents, Owners, and Operators SUBJECT: Additional Auction Slot for Neopanamax Vessels The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) hereby announces an auction slot to be offered to neopanamax vessels every Wednesday, in the same manner as the Tuesday auctions announced in Advisory to Shipping A-412021 and effective since November 16, 2021. The first “Wednesday auction” will be offered on September 28, 2022, for Wednesday October 5, 2022, and will continue to be offered on a regular basis seven days prior to the transit date every Wednesday thereafter until further notice. The procedure for this auction is the same as for the Tuesday auctions. It is important to note that at the opening of the 2 nd Booking Period (14 days prior to booking date), only one of the two regularly offered slots will become available to neopanamax vessels transiting in the northbound direction. The other slot will be retained until the following Wednesday (7 days prior to booking date), when it will be offered through auction for southbound vessels only. If the slot is not awarded during the auction, it will become available to interested vessels on a first come, first served basis. This change is part of the ACP’s continuous service improvement efforts to allow customers with lower customer ranking to have a greater opportunity to obtain booking slots and to better control our supply and demand.
