Image Credit: Nereus Digital Bunkers Digital bunkering firm Nereus Digital Bunkers has hired a vice president for sales in Northern Europe . Fernando Alvarez has joined Nereus as vice president of sales for Northern Europe as of this month, and will target the Scandinavian , Baltic and North Sea markets, the company said in an emailed statement on Tuesday . Alvarez founded Oslo -based marine fuel analytics firm Z-Joule in January 2024 . He had earlier worked for software company Motkraft from 2022 to 2023 , for BunkerMetric from 2017 to 2021 and for DNV from 2008 to 2011 . "Fernando has spent eighteen years solving the problem that Nereus was built to address and doing it from inside the most demanding market in the world," Nikolas Gkikas , founder and CEO of Nereus Digital Bunkers, said in the statement. "His technical depth, his network in Northern Europe, and his understanding of where fuel management is heading made this appointment clear."
