The FSRU, known as an offshore LNG terminal, is used in regions where energy demand is surging or where building an onshore terminal is difficult. Because an FSRU takes less time to build than an onshore terminal, it is emerging as one of the solutions for power supply amid the spread of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. Samsung Heavy Industries said it is demonstrating order competitiveness in the global energy market with an FSRU equipped with its independently developed regasification system (S-Regas). Samsung Heavy Industries provides integrated solution services that cover the entire LNG supply chain, from floating LNG production facilities (FLNG) to LNG carriers and LNG FSRUs.
