DNV has joined the Digital Container Shipping Association’s (DCSA) DCSA+ partnership programme to support trusted and standardized data exchange across container shipping. The partnership brings DNV’s Veracity platform into DCSA’s efforts to improve interoperability and connectivity throughout the maritime supply chain. Veracity is a cloud-based platform that enables maritime stakeholders to securely share and reuse verified operational and emissions data. The platform connects a large portion of the global fleet and more than 90 data and technology partners. It supports data sharing between shipowners, charterers, ports, solution providers and other stakeholders through standardized data flows. Through DCSA+, Veracity will help develop and implement industry standards that improve interoperability and simplify data exchange across the shipping sector. The partnership addresses one of the industry’s biggest challenges: fragmented data. Shipping companies often exchange data through different systems and formats. This creates inefficiencies, delays and inconsistencies, particularly in emissions reporting and supply chain operations. As emissions data becomes increasingly linked to regulations and commercial transactions, the industry needs reliable and standardized information. DNV said the partnership supports its strategy to build a more connected maritime ecosystem. The company aims to improve automation, transparency and data sharing across the value chain. DNV also sees trusted digital infrastructure as essential for future AI-driven maritime applications. “Maritime data only compounds in value when stakeholders trust it and can share it securely across their value chain,” said Mikkel Skou, Executive Director at Veracity by DNV. “That trusted data foundation is what we are building through Veracity – thousands of vessels and 90 partners around verified, standardised data flows that support emissions reporting, green finance, and value-chain collaboration.
