While the general momentum feels steady, Buyers appear disciplined on pricing. Notably, in the larger tanker space, well-positioned units are attracting firm interest, while in the dry market, we notice an increased appetite for 15-20 year-old Japanese tonnage ranging from Handysize to Kamsarmax, coming especially from the Far Eastern markets. Dry Cargo In the Newcastlemax sector, an enbloc transaction saw the sister vessels RTM CARTIER and RTM ZHENG HE (ABT 205K DWT, 2012, HHIC PHILIPPINES) sold to Chinese buyers at USD 90m. Additionally, in the Supramax space, the SUNNY ROYAL (ABT 58K DWT, 2011, KAWASAKI) was acquired for USD 18.5m by Greek interests, while the PHOENIX K (ABT 54K DWT, 2007, OSHIMA) was sold for USD 14m to Chinese interests. On the smaller sizes, the Handysize AEOLOS (ABT 31K DWT, 2001, SAIKI) sold for close to USD 7m, while the more modern ASTRO ORION (ABT 37K DWT, 2017, AVIC WEIHAI) fetched a price of USD 21m. Tanker In the tanker market, activity was highlighted by the sale of the VLCC KASAGISAN (ABT 302K DWT, 2006, MITSUI), reported sold at circa USD 60m, while the scrubber fitted Aframax P. ALIKI (ABT 105K DWT, 2010, HYUNDAI HI) was committed to C/O Trafigura at USD 42.65m, basis delivery at the end of Q3 2026.
