Image Credit: Acta Marine Netherlands -based Acta Marine has taken delivery of Acta Gemini , the third in a series of four construction service operation vessels (CSOVs) being built at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey . The vessel is designed to support offshore wind construction and maintenance activities and will begin a long-term charter for RWE at the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm in the UK , the firm said in a statement on its website on Monday . Operating from Grimsby , the vessel will provide offshore accommodation and technician transfer services. Acta Gemini can accommodate up to 88 personnel and features an offshore access system, helideck and daughter craft. The vessel is equipped with methanol dual-fuel main engines. A fourth sister vessel, Acta Aquarius , is scheduled for delivery later in 2026 , completing the company’s four-vessel newbuild programme. Methanol is seen as one of the more practical alternative fuels because it can be handled using relatively familiar infrastructure compared with some other emerging marine fuels.
