FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) has announced the start of construction on what it describes as the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier. The state-owned shipbuilding group said the first vessel in the QC-Max class, currently unnamed, has officially entered the construction phase at its Shanghai-based subsidiary Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding. The milestone marks a key step in a major order placed by QatarEnergy, one of the world’s largest LNG producers.
