(www.MaritimeCyprus.com) The Global Gas Report is a comprehensive, fact-based reference document on the state of the global Gas markets. The Report’s findings for 2025 again show strongly rising global natural gas demand, up 1.7% from the previous year, and record growth of 6.3% in the global LNG trade. Future demand and supply trajectories remain subject to considerable short-term volatility, a fact only underlined by events in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this year, which have affected natural gas demand mainly in price-sensitive markets. Growth in 2026 will be impacted, but the longer-term structural role of Gas in meeting accelerating global energy demand will continue. The Gas industry’s response to these unprecedented events has demonstrated great flexibility and resilience. Natural gas prices have increased but have remained well below the extremes of the 2022 energy crisis, reflecting the sustained investment made by the industry in supply diversification, liquefaction capacity and receiving infrastructure since the last crisis. To remain resilient to future energy market shocks - and to meet structural demand drivers like technological advances and extreme climatic conditions - it is essential that the global Gas industry continues to invest and to innovate. Investment in Gas and its infrastructure has proved instrumental in enabling Gas’ crucial role in reducing global emissions and driving sustainable development – as well as enabling the industry to better respond to external shocks. Continual innovation is also underway across the whole value chain, responding to the needs of customers and societies for more and cleaner energy. Modular infrastructure, for example, is reducing complexity and improving flexibility across the LNG value chain to help natural gas reach resources and markets that conventional infrastructure may struggle to serve. Progress is also being made in innovative ways to decarbonise the natural gas value chain via greater efficiency,
