THE MEETING COVERED A MIX OF PLENARY SESSIONS AND WORKSHOPS. areas where MACN should focus its collective action initiative. Updated guidelines on port entry procedures and port tariffs were presented • Nigeria - collective action developments, including a focus on the process and impact of the HelpDesk • West Africa - in this expansion workshop, members mapped challenges and gaps in West African countries with the goal to help MACN prioritise and further solidify our collective action efforts. INDUSTRY AND ANTI-CORRUPTION COMPLIANCE WORKSHOPS The workshops were based around challenges faced by different industry working groups. In the P&I Club industry working group Members shared insights on how MACN can support insurance and P&I clubs in collective action countries. The discussion focused on implementation of the upcoming correspondents’ anti-corruption training and challenges faced by P&I clubs and correspondents. There was also an interactive workshop covering how anticorruption compliance can be operationalised including implementing a company’s AntiBribery-Corruption policy onboard, easing the process of incident reporting and discussions around the corruption risks during the maritime recruitment phase. KEY GOVERNANCE DECISIONS The MACN Chair, Ann Shazell, announced that the Board is recruiting new members to the MACN Board with Dorte Rolff, Brendon Hawley and Kevin Leach Smith leaving the Board after the Members Meeting in September 2023.
