Maria Angelicoussis-led Maran Gas Maritime has returned to South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean for a pair of LNG carrier newbuilds. The gas shipping unit of Greece’s Angelicoussis Shipping Group is paying KRW713.5bn ($511m) to have the 174,000 cu m vessels delivered in 2027. Angelicoussis Group has placed orders for more than 120 ships at Hanwha Ocean, formerly Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), since 1994, worth over $15bn. The latest deal also comes with options for two additional vessels.
