Port State Control – Concentrated Inspection Campaign (Paris MOU and Tokyo MOU) We have obtained information on the Port State Control’s Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) by Paris MOU and Tokyo MOU from 1st September to 30th November, 2017. The joint CIC is focused on SAFETY OF NAVIGATION, for which navigation equipment, such as Voyage Date Recorder (VDR), Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) and Automatic Identification System (AIS), is included as inspection items among 12 questions by Port State Control Officers. Especially, it is expected that Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) will be maintained to function properly by the Master and navigation officers. Please refer to the attached “Press Release” and “Questionnaire” by each MOU for more details. In this regard, as to the operation of ECDIS, we are pleased to inform you that our Loss Prevention Bulletin No.39 “ECDIS” is available on our website for your reference.  We hope it will be of help to you with regard to the safe voyaging.
