On the dry bulk side, the prevailing trend continues to favor larger tonnage transactions, supported by firm freight rates despite the approaching Lunar New Year, a period that is traditionally slower for market activity. Meanwhile, the tanker market has recorded another strong week, with demand continuing to build rapidly and buyer appetite remaining robust. Numerous discussions are currently underway, and we are expecting to be able to report more sales in the coming weeks. Dry Cargo On the bulk carrier front, several transactions occurred across a wide range of sizes. At the larger end, the Capesize ROBUSTO (ABT 174 DWT, 2006, SWS, SCRUBBER) was sold to Chinese interests for USD 19.5 m with delivery in Far East between April – May 2026. In the Post Panamax segment, the JP CARETTA (ABT 88K DWT, 2008, IMABARI, SCRUBBER) was reported sold at region USD 13 m, while the Kamsarmax GASTONE (ABT 81K DWT, 2012, SUNGDONG) achieved a price of USD 17.6 m. Within the geared segment, the Supramax SPAR CANIS (ABT 53K DWT, 2006, SHANGHAI CHENGXI) was reported sold at region USD 9 m to Chinese buyers, and the Handysize JETSTREAM (ABT 34K, 2012, SPP GOSEONG) changed hands at USD 13.5 m. Tanker On the tanker sector, the LR1 ATHIRI (ABT 74K DWT, 2010, SPP SACHEON) was acquired by Greek interests at USD 25 m.
