Here comes the world’s largest container ship! 2024-09-06 08:55 By: xinde marine news Chen Yang 分享: --> --> --> 评论 --> --> On September 3rd, five new vessel designs from China State Shipbuilding Corporation's (CSSC) Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute received Approval in Principle (AiP) certificates during the SMM Hamburg Maritime Exhibition. These designs include the world's largest container ship, the 27,500 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessel, along with a 20,000 TEU ammonia dual-fuel container ship, a 16,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship, a 103,000 cubic meter Very Large Ethane Carrier (VLEC), and a 93,000 cubic meter Very Large Ammonia Carrier (VLAC).   The 27,500 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship, GREEN SEALION 27500, developed by CSSC, sets a world record for container capacity and represents a major leap in maritime logistics efficiency. With optimized hull design and LNG dual-fuel propulsion, it meets IMO Phase III carbon reduction requirements and achieves zero emissions in port through shore power.   The 20,000 TEU ammonia dual-fuel container ship, GREEN SEALION 20000, is a next-generation vessel featuring cutting-edge technology from CSSC’s subsidiaries. With an innovative ammonia fuel system and advanced energy-saving designs, this ship is set to redefine eco-friendly maritime transport.   The 16,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship, GREEN SEALION 16000, combines energy efficiency with a reduced environmental footprint. The wide-body design enhances cargo capacity while reducing ballast water usage, further supporting sustainability in global shipping.   The 93,000 cubic meter VLAC and the 103,000 cubic meter VLEC are breakthroughs in liquefied gas transportation. These vessels are designed to transport LPG, ammonia, and ethane with cutting-edge propulsion systems and advanced energy-efficie
