According to Reuters, the Panama-flagged tanker is carrying about 1.9 million barrels of crude (from Kuwait and the UAE) and is expected to arrive in Japan in late May or early June. ENEOS CEO Miyata Tomohide confirmed the safe transit. In addition, Japanese officials, including Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, said no transit fee was paid to Iran, while diplomatic coordination involved Japan’s embassy in Tehran.
