MSC has announced new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates from the Far East to North Europe, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. The rates apply from 19 October 2026 until further notice, but no later than 31 October 2026. The origin scope covers all Far East ports, including ports in Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. Destination 20-foot dry 40-foot dry and high cube North Europe US$3,150 US$4,500 West Mediterranean US$3,750 US$4,500 Adriatic US$3,750 US$4,500 East Mediterranean US$3,800 US$4,800 Black Sea US$3,900 US$5,000 Algeria US$5,550 US$6,900 Libya US$5,500 US$6,500 Morocco via Casablanca US$4,550 US$5,500 Tunisia US$5,550 US$6,500 The figures are base port-to-base port rates. Cargo moving through outports remains subject to the applicable Transport Additional Origin and Destination charges. The rates include the ocean freight charge and the following surcharges: Global Fuel Surcharge of US$253 per TEU for October 2026 Emission Control Area surcharge of US$15 per TEU for Mediterranean and selected North European destinations Emission Control Area surcharge of US$52 per TEU for other Nordic and Baltic destinations Additional charges may include: Carbon Limitation Surcharge of US$20 per TEU Carbon Review Surcharge of US$88 per TEU for North Europe and US$128 per TEU for the Mediterranean Piracy Risk Surcharge of US$55 per TEU on services transiting the Suez Canal Suez Canal Surcharge of US$36 per TEU on services transiting the waterway The FAK rates exclude IMO-classified and high-value commodities.
