Norwegian oil-services investment company Akastor has acquired Mitsui & Co’s interests in vessel-based subsea well construction and intervention specialist AKOFS Offshore. The company said in an Oslo filing the deal, which includes both equity and shareholder loans, is worth $22.5m and should close in the first quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. Following the completion of the transaction, Akastor will hold a 75% stake in AKOFS Offshore with the 25% stake, acquired in 2018, remaining with Japanese shipping giant Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL). “We believe the timing for increasing our investment in AKOFS Offshore is right, as market dynamics within the subsea well intervention and installation sector are increasingly compelling,” said Karl Erik Kjelstad, CEO of Akastor. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsJapan Norway
