Neda Maritime, a Greek tanker and bulker player controlled by the Lykiardopoulos family, has sold an increasingly rare LR2 tanker. Neda Maritime has let go of the 2008-built, 109,300 dwt Suvretta to Chinese buyers for $31.5m according to multiple broking reports. The last comparable deal was sealed in October when Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis-led Marla Tankers made two highly lucrative sales selling two Samsung-built,115,800 dwt sister ships for $42m each, the Fos Picasso & Fos Da Vinci, both built in 2009. These have now emerged in Vietnam’s Phuong Dong Petrol Transport fleet. LR2-type tankers have coated tanks, unlike the equally sized aframax crude oil tankers.
