Oslo-listed offshore wind support vessel pureplay Edda Wind has landed charter contracts for two of its newbuilds with operations starting right after yard delivery. The first contract for the vessel to be named Vestri Enabler is expected to start in late November 2024 after delivery from Astilleros Gondán in Spain. Edda Wind did not name the charterer but said the vessel would operate in the UK for four months, with options attached to extend the contracts. The second charter is for the vessel set to deliver from Vard’s yard in Vietnam in the second quarter of 2025. The ship will operate for an undisclosed client in Taiwan for at least six months, marking the company’s entry into this market. Edda Wind, backed by the shipping heavyweights John Fredriksen, Wilhelmsen and Idan Ofer, owns and operates three purpose-built offshore wind SOVs and four CSOVs and has six CSOVs under construction.
