File Image / Pixabay Logistics firm Scan Global Logistics has signed a deal to expand its biofuels partnership with container line Hapag-Lloyd . The firm is expanding its collaboration with Hapag-Lloyd by integrating the container line's Ship Green solution into its portfolio of emissions-reduction solutions, it said in a statement on its website on Wednesday. The company's partnership with Hapag-Lloyd is reducing GHG emissions by more than 8,500 mtCO2e . The two companies first announced a deal seeking to enable greater use of biofuels in May 2024 . "Our customers are asking for real emission reductions," Martin Andersen , global head of sustainability and ESG at Scan Global, said in the statement. "Not promises for 2030 or 2050, but solutions they can use straight away. "By working with Hapag-Lloyd and investing in biofuel, we can reduce emissions from ocean freight right now, without changing how our customers operate. "That’s what makes this collaboration meaningful."
