PortXchange has joined the Port of San Diego’s Blue Economy Incubator (BEI) after its EmissionInsider platform was selected to support the port’s decarbonisation programme. The Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners approved the agreement on 23 June 2026. EmissionInsider becomes the 14th project supported by the incubator, which promotes sustainable ocean technologies across the region. Under the pilot programme, EmissionInsider will help the port collect, integrate and analyse emissions data across its operations. The platform will provide greater visibility into direct, indirect and value chain emissions. PortXchange said the platform will help identify where emissions occur, detect operational bottlenecks and support data-driven decisions to reduce air pollution. The project supports the Port of San Diego’s Maritime Clean Air Strategy (MCAS) and its long-term decarbonisation goals. Sjoerd de Jager, Co-Founder and Managing Director of PortXchange, said the partnership reflects the growing importance of reliable emissions data in helping ports make informed environmental decisions. He added that EmissionInsider will help ports better understand emissions from ships and other activities outside their direct control, enabling more effective action to reduce emissions. PortXchange said ports are facing increasing regulatory requirements and growing pressure to demonstrate measurable environmental progress. The company believes accurate emissions data will play a key role in supporting future planning, reporting and sustainability strategies.
