Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has sealed another long-term charter deal with Japan’s largest utility JERA for a newbuild LNG carrier. The 174,000 cu m vessel is one of the newbuilds the Japanese shipowner has lined up for construction at South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries, with delivery set for 2026. This is MOL’s eighth contract with JERA, following the LNG carrier charter agreement last May for a unit delivering from Samsung’s Geoje Shipyard also in 2026. All ships will be managed by MOL. Financial terms and charter duration have not been disclosed. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsJapan
