Bulker prices are in the spotlight as German powerhouse Oldendorff Carriers tests the market. Broker reports close to the cash-rich account note that two Japanese-built, 60,900 dwt scrubber-fitted ultramaxes, Alwine Oldendorff and August Oldendorff (built 2014, 2015), have been sold to undisclosed Asian buyers for $61m. This marks the first modern Japanese ultramaxes sold for over a month. The price is significantly higher than last done. The latest comparable sale in sale registers was sealed earlier this month when the 2015-built Swansea, a Yangzhou Dayang Shipbuilding built, slightly bigger 63,500 dwt bulker was sold for $25m while in a comparable deal from August last year, Grindrod Shipping sold two similar sized ships for $46.5m en bloc. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsGermany oldendorff
