Decommissioning specialist AF Offshore Decom has awarded a contract to Norway’s Boa Offshore for two float-on and load-in operations. The contract is for Ithaca Energy’s FSU Alba and the floating production platform FPF-1. Both units will be dismantled and recycled at AF Environmental Base Vats. Under the contract, Boa will deploy its newbuild, semi-submersible heavy transport barge, Boabarge 39, for AF Offshore Decom to execute the operations. This contract will be the contract for the barge. The transport barge is 166 m long and 73 m wide. It has a deadweight of 57,500 tonnes and can submerge to 22.5 m of water above deck. The barge is well-suited for large-scale decommissioning projects, docking operations for both vessels and rigs, and launching solutions for heavy cargo with a large footprint. AF Offshore Decom has been awarded a contract by Ithaca Energy for the engineering, receipt, dismantling, and recycling of the FPF-1 floating production platform from the UK sector of the North Sea in late December 2025. The contact for the engineering, receipt, cleaning, dismantling, and recycling of the Alba FSU was awarded in mid-February. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway United Kingdom
