Image Credit: Tsuneishi Japanese shipbuilder Tsuneishi Group’s Zhoushan unit has delivered its second dual-fuel methanol-fuelled container ship. The 5,900 TEU container ship is fitted with dual-fuel engines capable of running on methanol and conventional marine fuels, the company said in a statement on its website on Friday . Tsuneishi has not mentioned the owner of the vessel, but it appears to be A.P Moller Maersk . Methanol is seen as one of the more practical alternative fuels because it can be handled using relatively familiar infrastructure compared with some other emerging marine fuels.
