This additional slot will be offered on the days determined by the ACP and for a limited time only, depending on the level of Gatun Lake and rainfall projections for the upcoming weeks. This special auction will be available to Neopanamax full container vessels that have already arrived at Canal waters, and do not have a booking slot. The specific conditions that interested vessels must meet in order to participate in this auction will be announced three (3) days prior to the transit date. The auction will be held two (2) days prior to the transit date, and the initial bid for this auction will be $93,500.00. The first special auction under this measure will be held on December 3, 2023, for transit date December 5, 2023. For this auction, only full container vessels that arrived prior to 2400 hours on November 30, 2023, and that have not acquired booking slot, will be eligible to participate. In addition, the 14 days limitation between booked date and transit date announced in Advisory to Shipping A-51-2023, will not apply to full container vessels (Panamax and Neopanamax) that have already arrived at Canal waters. These vessels may be scheduled for transit prior to their reserved transit date. The order in which these vessels will be considered for transit will be based on arrival.
