Air pollution caused by maritime transport is an important topic on the global environmental agenda. The change-over to cleaner fuels is a global trend and part of the IMO's long term objective to reduce the environmental impact of shipping. The purpose of Skuld's LSFO Guide is to provide masters, ship's officers , shore personnel, managers and charterers with a general overview of the changing international and national laws and regulations which are to be considered prior to and beyond January 2015. Further, it is the intention to address possible technical solutions which will assist shipowners to achieve the necessary compliance standards.
