Japanese liner Ocean Network Express (ONE) has bought a minority stake in New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1) in Jakarta, Indonesia for an unspecified price. Built in 2016, NPCT1 has an annual capacity of 1.5m teu and can accommodate the largest ships afloat today. Other shareholders in the terminal are shareholders Pelindo II, Mitsui & Co and PSA International. Jakarta is ONE’s third-largest volume port in Southeast Asia. The company said today the acquisition strengthens ONE’s presence in the regional supply chain, and helps safeguard its access to terminal capacity in an important region. Cash-rich ONE has been bolstering its global terminal portfolio a great deal of late. Twelve months ago it bought stakes in terminals in Europe and on the US west coast. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsIndonesia ONE
