Norwegian vessel owners Solstad Offshore and Solstad Maritime have clinched multiple contracts in Brazilian waters worth around $53m. The contracts involve Solstad Offshore’s AHTS vessels Normand Topazio and Normand Turmalina, and Solstad Maritime-owned construction support vessel Normand Cutter. The AHTS deals will see both ships fixed for a year with commencement in October and November 2024, respectively. The 2001-built Normand Cutter will start its new contract this month in direct continuation of current employment and be utilised for subsea work for nine months. Solstad Offshore was restructured in a deal with Kjell Inge Røkke-controlled Aker Capital which saw the majority of the fleet taken over by Solstad Maritime in which old Solstad now holds about 27% stake and seven vessels.
