MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has announced new Freight All Kinds (FAK) base rates for shipments from the Far East to Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Black Sea, effective 15 July 2026 until further notice, but no later than 31 July 2026. The revised rates apply to cargo from all Far East ports, including Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. For Northern Europe, MSC has set new base rates of US$5,005 per 20DV and US$7,700 per 40DV/HC. Shipments to the Western Mediterranean and Adriatic will be priced at US$5,100 and US$7,700 respectively, while rates to the Eastern Mediterranean are US$5,100 per 20DV and US$7,600 per 40DV/HC. For the Black Sea, the carrier has introduced rates of US$5,200 per 20DV and US$7,800 per 40DV/HC. Higher rates apply to North African destinations, including Algeria (US$6,800/US$10,100), Libya (US$6,500/US$9,400), Morocco’s Port of Casablanca (US$5,800/US$8,700) and Tunisia (US$6,600/US$9,700). MSC said the announced base rates include ocean freight, the Global Fuel Surcharge (GFS) and Emission Control Area (ECA) charges. Additional surcharges, including the Carbon Limitation Surcharge (CLS) and Carbon Review Surcharge (CRS), will apply separately. The rates exclude IMO cargoes and high-value commodities.
