The finance ministers and central bank officials from the ASEAN+3 group released a statement following a meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, held alongside the Asian Development Bank’s annual meeting. “We strongly reaffirm our commitment to sustained policy dialogue to safeguard macroeconomic and financial stability,” the statement said. The officials said they would remain attentive to risks from excessive volatility and disorderly movements in financial markets and shifts in global liquidity conditions, and stand ready to respond based on domestic conditions. The group pledged to maintain open trade and investment flows and resilient supply chains. The statement reaffirmed support for a rules-based, non-discriminatory, free, fair, open, inclusive, equitable and transparent multilateral trading system, with the World Trade Organization at its core.
