International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) has secured a US$1 billion term loan facility from BDO Unibank as the global terminal operator continues its major investment programme across its international portfolio. ICTSI signed the loan facility agreement on 22 September, with the company acting as borrower. The facility has a tenor of 10 years, according to an official disclosure filed with the Philippine Stock Exchange. ICTSI did not provide further details on the terms of the financing or specify how the proceeds will be used. ICTSI plans US$740 million capex in 2026 The financing comes as ICTSI continues a significant capital expenditure programme across its global terminal network. The company has estimated capital expenditure of approximately US$740 million for 2026 . Investment is focused on the completion of the Phase 3B expansion at Contecon Manzanillo in Mexico, as well as ongoing expansion projects at the Manila International Container Terminal, Manila North Harbour, Mindanao Container Terminal and South Luzon Container Terminal in the Philippines. ICTSI is also investing at ICTSI Rio in Brazil and Matadi Gateway Terminal in the Democratic Republic of Congo, alongside equipment acquisitions, upgrades and maintenance projects. Four additional expansion projects are planned at terminals in Honduras, Australia and Ecuador, as well as Phase 4 of the Contecon Manzanillo development in Mexico. ICTSI said capital expenditures reached US$320.05 million during the first half of 2026 . As of 30 June, the group reported total indebtedness of US$3.37 billion , with 91% of its long-term loans due from 2028 onwards. The company currently operates across 19 countries and describes itself as the world’s largest independent terminal operator.
